Tamarack is a newer neighborhood located in south east Edmonton and is bounded on the north by the Anthony Henday Drive and on the South by 23rd Avenue. 12th Street Station will be one of the only multi family developments in the area. It is also considered one of Edmonton’s most walkable communities with trails and pathways that lead to almost anywhere within the community and adjoining neighborhoods. Tamarack is one of Dundee's (the developers) most beautiful communities and will have 620 acres (2.5 km2) of developed land, including over 67 acres of green spaces. Directly north west of the community is situated an urban plaza called "Rio Meadows" it is a shopping district that has many banks, The Home Depot, Winners, Starbucks, Swiss Chalet and many other stores for easy convenience. 12th street station is a quick commute away from shopping malls and other key amenities by having direct access to Whitemud Drive and Anthony Henday Drive:

The Meadows ETS bus terminal is a 5 min walk northwest which provides easy access to downtown/southgate LRT station. (30min with no transfers)
